Providing academic support to help students boost reading and math skills and succeed in the classroom

Title I is a federally funded program that provides instruction for students who need extra academic support. The purpose of the program is to ensure that all children have a fair and equal opportunity to obtain a high quality education.

The Osseo Area Learning Center offers a schoolwide Title I program, which uses Title I funds to serve all students. Each year, the needs of students schoolwide are assessed and a plan is created to help meet the identified needs.

Schoolwide Title I Plan, 2024-2025 School Year

This plan is a set of goals and strategies determined by the instructional leadership team with input from stakeholders. These goals are the focus of the Osseo Area Learning Center's work as a school community to ensure it provides for the learning and social emotional needs of all students.

Goal 1: Increase school attendance

Goal 2: Provide Tier 2 interventions

Goal 3: Increase scholar credit earning through effective goal setting and additional opportunities.

Strategies to Achieve the Goal:

Revisit master schedule
Consider use of planners and advisory
Research additional implementation strategies

Measuring Our Progress:

Using a survey each trimester, Scholar perception of goal setting in their CLP positively impacting their
credit earning will increase by trimester as strategies are implemented. This will provide baseline data
for future years

Family Engagement Plan, 2024-2025 School Year

The Osseo Area Learning Center is committed to the goal of providing quality education for every child in this district. We want to establish partnerships with parents and with the community. Everyone gains if school and home work together to support high achievement of our children. We can’t do this job alone. Parents and families play an extremely important role as children’s first teachers. Their support for their children and for the school is critical to their children’s success at every step along the way. This plan was developed in partnership with families and approved on 2/5/2024. We will inform families about our Title I program at the Open House. We will share the information on our school website.

Parent Notice: Right to Request Teacher Qualifications

The following schools receive federal funds for programs that are part of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended (2015): Crest View Elementary, Fair Oaks Elementary, Garden City Elementary, Palmer Lake Elementary, Park Brook Elementary, and North View Middle School.

Based on current education law, teachers must have earned State certification and licensure. State certification and licensure is the training required to be a teacher.

You have the right to request information about the professional qualifications of your child’s teacher(s) or paraprofessional(s). A paraprofessional provides academic or other support for students under the direct supervision of a teacher. If you request this information, the district or school will provide you with the following as soon as possible:

If the teacher has met State certification and licensing requirements for the grade levels and subjects for which the teacher provides instruction;
If state certification and licensing requirements have been waived (are not being required at this time) for the teacher under emergency or other temporary status;
If the teacher is teaching in the field of discipline for which they are certified or licensed;
If the teacher has met State-approved or State-recognized certification, licensing, registration, or other comparable requirements. These requirements apply to the professional discipline in which the teacher is working and may include providing English language instruction to English learners, special education or related services to students with disabilities, or both; and
If your child is receiving Title I or Special Education services from a paraprofessional, his or her qualifications.

Our staff is committed to helping your child develop the social, academic and critical thinking he or she needs to succeed in school and beyond. That commitment includes making sure that all of our teachers and paraprofessionals are highly skilled.

If you would like to request information about your child’s teacher(s) or paraprofessional(s), or if you have any questions about your child’s assignment to a teacher or paraprofessional, please contact the principal at your child’s school.
