Why Choose Osseo Area Learning Center

Osseo Area Learning Center (OALC) serves students in grades 9-12 and offers an alternative high school program for those whose learning needs are better met in a non-traditional high school setting. In addition to providing multiple credit recovery options, we deliver:

  • Personalized learning with high expectations
  • A welcoming and inclusive community
  • Holistic support for students and families

The OALC enrolls students through an application process. Students who currently attend a District 279 high school may also request an application or more information from their school's counseling office.

Personalized learning that fits your style

OALC scholars learn in multiple ways, including through traditional, online, blended and project-based courses. Our students also benefit from credit recovery support, opportunities to gain real-world career/work experience, and the chance to grow as young leaders.

In addition, all incoming students take a three-week Skills for Success course that is designed to help them make a successful transition to OALC.

Individual attention

Our small size means OALC students receive more personalized attention from our mission-driven staff. Every day, scholars benefit from the support of teachers in our welcoming and inclusive school community.
